Bugyals

Bugyal is a beautiful high altitude alpine grasslands or meadows. These are extensively flat pasture land with rolling slope found at the height over 2800 meters. These bugyal are very beautiful grassland having different shades of seasonal flower. Sometime these bugyals surrounded with beautiful conifer forest. By locals they are referred as ‘nature local gardens’. During summers and in mansoon local herdsman stay in these pasture land with there cattles to feed them. In winters these bugyals covered with snow.
Bugyal in Uttarakhand

Bedni Bugyal
Bedni bugyal is situated in the atltitude of 3354 mt. It is the lush green alpine meadows surrounding with beautiful wild flowers. There is a small sacred lake name Vaitarani(Bedani Kund). The base of the bedni bugyal is Tharali, in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Bedni bugyal falls on the way to Roopkund near Wan village. One can see Trishul and Nanda Ghunti peaks clearly from here.

Dayara Bugyal
Dayara bugyal is a blissful meadows situated in height of 3048mt. Dayar bugyal is unspoiled grassland spread over 25 sqkm, filled with beautiful flower in summer and mansoon. In winter this placed covered with snow and is a paradise for skiing. It also attracts trekkers and is one of the favorite destinations for trekker. Treks start from Bhatwari village in Uttarkashi districts. From Bhatwari there are two different routes one is Raithal (10 km from Bhatwari) and other is Barsu (6km from bhatwari). Sheshnaag temple and Barnala taal are place to visit on the way. Bandarpuch (6320mt), Sudersan (6507mt), Gangotri (6672) and Shrikanth. (6133mt), Kalanaag (6387mt) and Draupati Danda (6387mt) are some peaks which are visible from here.

Auli Bugyal and Gorson Bugyal
Auli is the famous of all and easy to approach. It is a major destination for skiing in Uttaranchal. Altitude at Auli ranging from 2591 meters to 3049 meters Auli is 14km by motorable distance from joshimath, further 4km is Gorson is connected with cable car with Joshimath.

Valley of flowers
This bugyal is also known as Garden of Nature. This stunning concave valley is nearly 10km in length, and 2 km in width, ranging from 3658mt to 3692mt. The best time to visit valley of flower is mid July to mid August when hundreds of variety flower blooms and decorate the valley by different shades of colors.

Panwali Bugyal
This was an old route for the pilgrims from Gangotri to Kedarnath. This beautiful and peaceful bugyal ranges from 2745 meter to 3963 meter. There are open grassland and undulating slope.
